Game Notes

STORRS, Conn. -- Despite playing with just six scholarship-level players in the past two games, the UConn men's basketball team has persevered with two victories and looks to keep the ball rolling on Saturday night against Tulane in Gampel Pavilion.

The Huskies (9-11, 4-4 American Athletic Conference) tip-off with the Green Wave at 8 p.m. (ET) on ESPNU and the action can be heard on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

Even with injuries keeping sophomore Steven Enoch and freshman Juwan Durham sidelined this week, UConn has earned wins over ECU and USF -- getting back to .500 in conference play.

Five players scored in double-figures on Wednesday night in Tampa, Fla., including a double-double from sophomore Jalen Adams with 20 points and 12 assists. Freshman Christian Vital netted a career-high 17 points, shooting 5-of-7 from long range.

The Huskies made a season-high 12 three-point attempts against the Bulls, including a season-best 60-percent shooting mark from beyond the arc. It was their best three-point performance since shooting 64.7-percent (11-of-17) against USF in the 2014-15 season.

In the past two games, the Huskies have a +14 scoring margin and are shooting 51.5-percent as a team. Four of the six players averaged double-digits against ECU and USF, including Adams with 19.5 points per game.

UConn is 4-0 all-time against Tulane, including season-sweeps in the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In the most recent meeting, the Huskies won 60-42 in the XL Center on Jan. 19, 2016.

The Green Wave (4-16, 1-7 American) are under the first-year guidance of head coach Mike Dunleavy, Sr. -- former NBA coach for four different teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers most recently (2003-10).

Tulane has lost its last four games, with its most recent victory against USF on Jan. 11. Cameron Reynolds leads the team with 15.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, but Tulane's defense ranks last in the conference in points allowed (78.6 per game).

In two meetings last season, the Huskies won by an average of 13 points, with four players averaging double-figures in those games.

Three-pointers made by Christian Vital on Wednesday night, a career-high. Only two other players this season have made five three's in a game for UConn -- Rodney Purvis vs. Syracuse and Vance Jackson vs. SMU.

5-2: UConn's record when either Jalen Adams or Kentan Facey records a double-double this season. Both are tied with a team-high four double-doubles.

3: Straight wins if UConn defeats Tulane on Saturday. It would be the first time this season that the Huskies were riding a three-game winning streak.
