After suffering a 58-57 setback to Cincinnati on Thursday night, the UConn men’s basketball team will look to rebound when it travels to CFE Arena to challenge UCF on Sunday, Jan. 31. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

Boatright Leads UConn Past UCF, 67-60, In Storrs On Thursday
University of Connecticut senior guard Ryan Boatright (Aurora, Ill.) scored a game-high 18 points and had seven assists to lead UConn to a 67-60 win over UCF in front of a soldout crowd at Gampel Pavilion on Thursday.

UConn (14-6, 4-3 The American) jumped out a five-point halftime lead against the Bearcats at the XL Center on Thursday but shot just 28.1 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes. Four Huskies reached the 10-point plateau, led by a game-best 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from graduate guard Sterling Gibbs (Scotch Plains, N.J.).

The Huskies are 6-1 all-time against the Knights in a series dating back to the 2004-05 season. Connecticut topped UCF, 67-60, in the only meeting between the programs last season on Jan. 22, 2015.

UCF (10-8, 4-3) has been idle since last Tuesday’s 97-86 home loss to Memphis. The Knights are led in scoring by sophomore forward A.J. Davis (13.4) and sophomore guard Adonys Henriquez (10.6). Davis is the top rebounder on the team (5.9), while senior guard Daiquan Walker leads in assists (3.9).

Sunday’s match-up will mark the fifth true road game for the Huskies in 2015-16. This season, UConn sports a 3-1 record on the road and is 14-12 in such contests over the last two years.

Through 20 games this season, UConn has held 15 opposing teams to a field goal percentage under 40.0 percent. For the season, UConn has held opponents to 37.3 field goal percentage, ranked fifth in the country, and its lowest total since the 2006- 07 Huskies held opponents to 37.1 percent.
