STORRS, Conn. – Going into Wednesday night’s matchup with USF, the UConn men’s basketball team has won three straight games at Gampel Pavilion and looks to add to that streak when the ball is thrown in the air at 7 p.m. (ET).

The Huskies (10-12, 5-5 American) will try to get back in the win column after an 82-68 loss to No. 14 Cincinnati on Saturday. In the first meeting with the Bulls this season, UConn won, 81-60, in Tampa, Fla.

Tip-off with USF on Wednesday can be seen on the CBS Sports Network and listened to on the UConn/IMG Radio Network. The Huskies are 3-1 this season when playing on CBSSN.

Senior Rodney Purvis led the way with 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting against the Bearcats, but the Huskies came up short against first-place Cincinnati in their most recent outing.

Five players are averaging double-figures in the past four games for UConn, including Purvis and his team-high 16 points per contest (52.4 FG%). Senior Kentan Facey is averaging 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds in that stretch.

Sophomore guard Jalen Adams continues to lead the league in assists (6.6 per game), while ranking ninth overall in Division I. Adams is also scoring a team-high 14.7 points per game this season.

UConn has won three of its last four games in American Athletic Conference play and earned four-straight victories overall at home, going back to Jan. 8 against UCF in the XL Center. The Huskies are 17-2 all-time against USF, including seven straight wins.  


The Bulls (6-16, 0-11 American) continue to search for their first conference win, having lost 11 straight games by an average margin of 16.3 points. Their last win was 81-53 over Delaware on Dec. 22.

Geno Thorpe continues lead USF in scoring, netting 14 points per game; USF ranks 10th in the American with 66.1 points per game. Thorpe is also averaging a team-high 4.5 assists per contest.

USF last beat UConn on March 6, 2013 by a 65-51 margin, a game played in Tampa. The series dates back to Dec. 11, 1972.
