Men's and Women's Basketball Ready for Colorful Week

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's basketball teams would like for all its Husky fans to THINK PINK and BLEED BLUE during this action-packed week on the court.

The No. 1 women's team will kick off the colorful week on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. against Cincinnati in its 10th annual Play 4Kay game in Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies will wear special pink-accented uniforms, which are being auctioned off at with proceeds benefiting The Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The first 3,000 fans will receive pink pom-poms and all fans are encouraged to WEAR PINK in an effort to raise awareness for cancer research. Prizes will be awarded throughout the game to some of the best pink outfits.

The men's squad will head to the XL Center on Thursday, Feb. 18 for its first meeting of the season with #21 SMU at 8 p.m. The Huskies will wear special (alternate) blue uniforms for the highly-anticipated matchup.

All fans are encouraged to WEAR BLUE and the first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a blue UConn t-shirt.
