TAMPA, Fla. – With just four regular season games remaining, the UConn men’s basketball team continues American Athletic Conference play when it travels to the campus of USF to challenge the Bulls on Thursday, Feb. 25. Tipoff at the Sun Dome is set for 7:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.
UConn (19-8, 9-5 The American) dropped a 65-60 contest on the road to Cincinnati in its last game on Feb. 18. Freshman Jalen Adams (Roxbury, Mass.) exploded for 19 points and five rebounds, while Rodney Purvis scored 16 points in 28 minutes off the bench in the setback.
The Huskies own a 15-2 all-time mark against the Bulls in a series that dates back to the 1972-73 season. Connecticut has won each of the past five matchups, including a 69-43 victory in the first round of the 2015 American Athletic Conference championship at the XL Center in Hartford.
USF (7-21, 4-11) has won its last two games, including an 80-71 home victory over Memphis on Saturday. The Bulls are led in scoring by freshman guard Jahmal McMurray (15.7), who is also the team leader in assists (2.6). Senior center Jaleel Cousins tops USF in rebounding (8.1).
Thursday’s game will mark the ninth road game of the season for the Huskies, who stand at 5-3 in such contests this season. Over the last 11 seasons, UConn is 63-58 (.521) in true road games, including a 20-19 mark under fourth-year head coach Kevin Ollie.
