After arriving in Iowa on Tuesday, the UConn men’s basketball team held an open practice at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on Wednesday afternoon ahead of its NCAA First Round match-up with Colorado scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 17 on TNT. 

The Huskies spoke with the media from 11:20-11:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning before practicing in front of hundreds of fans at the arena from 12-12:40 p.m. To view a photo gallery from the event, please CLICK HERE.  

UConn earned an automatic berth into the 2016 NCAA Tournament after securing the American Athletic Conference tournament title on March 13 in Orlando, Fla. The Huskies enter the tournament as a No. 9 seed for the third time since the seeding process began in 1979.

UConn owns a 31-5 (.861) mark in the first two rounds of the NCAA action over the last 18 seasons and is 17-2 in NCAA First Round games since 1990.
