KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- UConn sophomore swingman Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles, Calif.) added another postseason honor on Friday when he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District Team, as voted by the member coaches across the country.
Hamilton, who led the 2015-2016 Huskies in rebounding (8.9) and assists (4.7) and was second on the team in scoring (12.5), was named to the First Team of District 25 (American Athletic Conference). Joining the UConn sophomore on the First team are Nic Moore of SMU, Quentin DeCosey of Temple, Shaquille Harrison of Tulsa and James Woodard of Tulsa.
On the District 25 Second Team were Troy Caupain and Gary Clark of Cincinnati, Ben Moore of SMU, and Dedric Lawson and Shaq Goodwin of Memphis.
Hamilton, who produced 12 double-doubles this season, including the 11th triple-double in UConn history, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the AAC Championship after leading UConn to three straight wins and the title in Orlando, Fla. He was an All-Conference Second Team Pick and was named the AAC Player of the Week twice and to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll once during the season. Last year as a freshman, Hamilton was the AAC Rookie of the Year.
