BROOKLYN, N.Y. --- UConn basketball recruits Jalen Adams and Steven Enoch, who will be incoming freshmen in the fall of 2015, put on impressive performances Friday night at the Jordan Brand Classic Regional Game, held at Barclays Center.
Adams, a 6-2 guard from Roxbury, Mass., who attends Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.), won MVP honors for his Black Team, leading it to a 125-112 victory.
Adams scored 27 points, hitting 12 of 17 shots, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He also handed out 5 assists, grabbed 4 rebounds, had 2 steals and a blocked shot.
Enoch, a 6-10 forward from Norwalk, Conn., who attends St. Thomas More (Oakdale, Conn.) played on the White Team in the Regional Game. He had 15 points, 9 rebounds, and a block in 28 minutes.
Both UConn recruits had an outstanding season in 2014-15.
Adams led Brewster Academy to a 34-1 season, the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class AAA championship and the National Prep Championship. Adams averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field and 77 percent from the foul line. He was a first team All-NEPSAC Class AAA selection and was named the MVP of the NEPSAC Class AAA Tournament.
Enoch averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds as St. Thomas More posted a 29-9 record and reached the semifinals of the NEPSAC Class AAA Tournament. Enoch was selected as the Connecticut Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
