UConn Announces BIG EAST Opponents For 2006-07 Men's Basketball Season

STORRS, Conn. (July 14, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will play a 16-game BIG EAST Conference schedule during the 2006-07 season, highlighted by two contests each with Louisville, Rutgers and defending tournament champion Syracuse.

 

As was the case last year, the BIG EAST men’s basketball conference will consist of one division and the 16 conference members will play three schools home and away, five schools at home only, five schools away only and will not play two schools.

 

In addition to its home-and-home series with the Cardinals, Scarlet Knights and Orange, UConn will host games against Marquette, Providence, Seton Hall, South Florida and Villanova. The Huskies will travel to DePaul, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, St. John’s and West Virginia. UConn will not play Cincinnati or Notre Dame during the regular season.

 

Dates and times of all conference games, as well as the remainder of the UConn schedule, will be released at a later date.
