STORRS, Conn. -- The UConn men's basketball team will be participating in the PK80 – Phil Knight Invitational, a 16-team, early-season men’s college basketball tournament honoring Nike co-founder and 2012 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Phil Knight in advance of his 80 birthday, over Thanksgiving week in Portland, Ore. Fans, alumni and guests can purchase tickets and travel packages by CLICKING HERE.
Participating schools include Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, DePaul, Gonzaga, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas. The format consists of two eight-team brackets running simultaneously at the Moda Center and the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, both in Portland. Games will be played on Thursday, Nov. 23, Friday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 26, with the crowning of two champions on Sunday. UConn will challenge 2017 Final Four participant Oregon on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 23, in the first round of the “Victory” bracket.
The women’s basketball team will be competing in the Phil Knight Invitational against Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore. There will be information to come regarding bus transportation from Portland and tickets.
