HARTFORD, Conn. - The No. 20 UConn men's basketball team rounds out its two-game exhibition slate when it hosts the UNH Chargers at the XL Center on Saturday, Nov. 7. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on uconnhuskies.com and heard on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.
The Huskies topped Division II Tampa, 88-72, on Nov. 1 in their exhibition opener behind a team-best 18 points from graduate student Shonn Miller (Euclid, Ohio). In total, five Husky players reached double-figures and the team shot 48.5 percent (33-of-68) from the field during the contest.
Connecticut earned 307 points in the Associated Press Preseason Poll, checking in at No. 20 overall. The team is the lone representative from the American Athletic Conference in the top-25, while SMU and Cincinnati were receiving votes.
UConn is beginning its 40th season of competition at the XL Center, formerly the Hartford Civic Center. The Huskies have played in the building in every season since it opened in 1975-76, except for 1978-79, when the building was under repair. UConn owns an overall record of 249-88 (.739) in Hartford.
New Haven finished with a 15-12 record last season, 10-10 in the Northeast-10. The Chargers will be led by junior guard Jemal Mosley, the team's leading returning scorer (14.8) and assist man (2.5), as well as senior forward Samir McDaniel, the top returning rebounder (4.5).
