UConn (5-3) is coming off a 76-66 setback to No. 6 Maryland on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. Sophomore Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored a season-best 23 points in the loss, while junior center Amida Brimah (Accra, Ghana) pulled down seven rebounds and blocked four Terrapin shots.

Saturday’s tilt will be the sixth game between the two programs in a series that dates back to 1983-84. The Buckeyes own a slim 3-2 all-time edge with UConn winning the last match-up, 64-58, in the 1999 NCAA National Semifinals at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

Connecticut owns a 3-0 record at Gampel Pavilion and is 81-7 (.920) against non-conference competition at its on-campus facility since the building opening in 1990.

Ohio State will be the third team from the Big Ten Conference that UConn has squared off against in nine games in 2015-16. The Huskies topped Michigan before falling to Maryland in the previous two games against the league. Fourth-year head coach Kevin Ollie is 4-1 in five career games vs. Big Ten opponents.

The Buckeyes will enter Saturday’s game with a 4-4 overall record and are coming off a 74-50 home win over Air Force. Junior forward Marc Loving tops Ohio State in scoring (17.1) and rebounding (7.0), while freshman guard JaQuan Lyle leads in assists (5.5).
