After an eight-day layoff for final examinations, the No. 25 UConn men's basketball team returns to the court on Sunday, Dec. 20 when it hosts UMass Lowell at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. Tip-off for the game is set for 4 p.m. and will be broadcasted by SNY and heard on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

UConn (6-3) got back in the win column with a convincing 75-55 victory over Ohio St. on Dec. 12, led by a team-best 14 points from senior guard Omar Calhoun (Brooklyn, N.Y.). The Connecticut defense stifled Ohio St., holding the Buckeyes to 35.7 percent shooting from the field, while the Husky offense posted a season-best 60.4 percent shooting performance in the win.

Sunday's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Riverhawks, who are playing in their third season as a Division I program, are averaging 73.6 points per game and shooting 43.0 percent as a team. Last year, UMass Lowell put together a 12-17 overall record, going 6-10 in America East play en route to a sixth-place league finish.

The Huskies are 1-0 at the XL Center this season and own a 250-88 record (.740) in 40 seasons of play in their off-campus home facility.

Through nine games, redshirt-junior guard Rodney Purvis (Raleigh, N.C.) is the team's leading scoring at 13.7 ppg and is the only Husky to reach the 10-point plateau in every game this season. In total, four Huskies are averaging double-figures, while sophomore Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles, Calif.) leads all Connecticut players with a stellar 8.2 rpg mark.

The Huskies returned to the Associated Press poll after a 1-1 week and are receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
