UConn vs. Fordham Post Game Quotes
Fordham Head Coach Tom Masella
"I'm proud of our players today, they played extremely hard they played the whole game. We knew obviously it was going to be an uphill battle, but I thought our kids accounted themselves well. We can learn from this and take some things out of it, make corrections and build from it. I was hoping we would be a little closer at halftime, but we knew we could not give up big plays."
"This is as good a football team we are going to see all year, they were big, they were strong they were athletic. If we compete like this all year, play hard like this all year I like my football team this year, the biggest improvement is between the first and second games and we have two weeks to prepare for Columbia."
How did you feel out there?
"Moving forward this is the toughest team we are going to play all year, and there is a lot of positive things we can take out of it. It proves that we are a good team. Playing in this kind of stadium with a big physical team, can only help our program get better."
What does Playing UConn mean for the rest of the season?
"It improves our confidence coming out playing toe to toe, it's a big step for us in playing for the rest of the season."
On confidence you can get from playing UConn:
"Preparation, we can play with anyone, it also helps us to continue to bring our program to the next level as we continue to have more and more experienced players on the roster."
