STORRS, CONN. - ESPN and the BIG EAST Conference announced on Thursday that a pair nationally-televised University of Connecticut football games this upcoming season will both kick off in prime time.
On Friday night, Sept. 17, at 8:00 p.m., the Huskies will make both their national-TV debut on ESPN2 and their debut as members of the BIG EAST Football Conference when they face Boston College at the Eagles Alumni Stadium. UConns BIG EAST home opener, against Pittsburgh, on Thursday night, Sept. 30, at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, will start at 7:00 p.m. and will also be broadcast by ESPN2.
The Huskies have two other appearances on the ESPN family of networks scheduled for the 2004 season but kickoff times have not been set. UConn will host West Virginia on Wednesday night, Oct. 13, on either ESPN or ESPN2 while the Huskies will travel to Rutgers for a Thursday game on Nov. 25 that will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
