STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut football team played host to its first-ever "Family and Friends Summer BBQ" on Thursday night at The Burton Family Football Complex and Mark R. Shenkman Training Center.
All 2015 UConn season ticket holder were invited and were asked to bring a non-season ticket holder to celebrate and grow the Husky Football Family. The event was a big hit with UConn fans and the Husky football team enjoyed sharing in the experience.
Guests had the opportunity to tour the lower level of The Burton Family Football Complex. When the doors to the Mark R. Shenkman Training Center opened, UConn head coach Bob Diaco enthusiastically addressed the fans.
Husky players and coaches joined the crowd for a special BBQ. Fans and players then teamed up in several tailgating activities including cornhole, kan jam and ladder ball. There was also a live DJ and inflatable games.
Prizes were awarded throughout the night including special awards to the top fans in each tailgate activity.
