STORRS, Conn. - The UConn football team spent Friday continuing to prepare for the upcoming 2016 season, but on Thursday, one final honor from the 2015 season was bestowed on 26 members of last year's team. These Huskies were named to the 2015-16 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team as a total of 256 UConn student-athletes were named to the squad.
To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters with a total of 18 semester credits.
UConn football student-athletes named to the 2015-16 team are: Andrew Adams, Frank Battle, JJ Bivona, Brandon Bisack, Kyle Bockeloh, John-Luke Bogue, Luke Carrezola, Jeremy Claflin, Tommy Hopkins, Andreas Knappe, Nicholas Lensander, Dominick Manco, Sean Marinan, Aaron McLean, Obi Melifonwu, Daniel Oak, Andrew Paluch, Bobby Puyol, Will Rishell, David Ryslik, Kyle Schafenacker, Bryant Shirreffs, Marquise Vann, Brendan Vechery, Justin Wain and Tahj-Anthony Wilson.
