CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- UConn senior defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi is this week’s recipients of the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Awards presented by the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
Fatukasi recorded a season-high nine total tackles and a pair of sacks in the Huskies’ 20-14 victory over Tulsa. Fatukasi was part of a Husky defensive attack that recorded six sacks in a game for the first time since 2012 at Maryland.
The Gold Helmet Awards are presented each Wednesday afternoon at the weekly New England Football Writers Association Media Luncheons that take place at Harvard University’s Dillon Field House. For the third straight year, the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation is the presenting sponsor for both the weekly and end-of-year Gold Helmet Awards presented to student-athletes from FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III institutions throughout New England.
