WACO, Texas -
The University of Connecticut football program has been honored by the American Football Coaches Association Academic Achievement Award program.
The program honors schools with outstanding graduation rates for football student-athletes, with this year’s awards measuring the freshman class of 2008.
The AFCA program uses both the NCAA’s Graduation Success Rate and the Federal Graduation Rate formulas to determine which schools are honored.
The Huskies were selected for graduating 75 percent or more of their student-athletes from that freshman class using the Federal formula and also having an outstanding NCAA GSR.
Duke and Vanderbilt shared the top spot in the awards listing and will receive the 2015 Academic Achievement Award.
