Three Former Huskies In NFL Playoffs

Robert McClain and the Atlanta Falcons were NFC South Champions.

STORRS, Conn. - Three former University of Connecticut football players will be on active rosters when the National Football League playoffs begin this weekend.

The Indianapolis Colts take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 1 p.m. The Colts feature former UConn defensive back Darius Butler, who has played in 11 games with five starts this year. He has 31 tackles and four interceptions - two for TDs - this season. Butler is in his fourth year in the NFL after spending 2009 and 2010 with the New England Patriots and 2011 with the Carolina Panthers.

Two former Huskies are on the Colts' injury list. Running back Donald Brown is in his fourth year in the NFL - all with the Colts - and rushed for 417 yards and a TD this year before a December ankle injury ended his season. He played in ten games in 2012 with four starts. Former Husky linebacker Scott Lutrus has been on the Colts' injury list for the entire season.

Former Husky defensive back Robert McClain and his Atlanta Falcons were the NFC South Champions and will play a Division Playoff game on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 1:00 p.m. McClain is in his first year with the Falcons and third in the NFL. He played in 15 games this season with three starts and made 61 tackles.

Former Husky Donald Thomas and his New England Patriots were AFC East Champions will play a Divisional Playoff game on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 4:30 p.m. Thomas started seven games for the Patriots this season with seven startson the offensive line He has played in 43 career NFL games with 21 starts.
