TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Connecticut golf team completed play at The Match Play, co-hosted by DePaul University and USF at the TPC of Tampa Bay, this weekend.

The Huskies finished with a record of 1-2-1 in their four matches on the weekend, beating Cleveland State in the first round by a score of 4.0-1.0, losing to Xavier 4.0-1.0 in round two, falling to St. John's 3.5-1.5 in round three and tying Campbell 2.5-2.5 in the final match of the weekend.

Kennesaw State captured the team title with a 3-2 victory over Ball State in the championship match.

Four Huskies totaled two out of a possible four points on the weekend. Senior Chris DeLucia went 1-1-2 in his matches, while junior Matt Carroll and Adam Vaccari and sophomore Brian Hughes each went 2-2. Junior Jeb Buchanan finished 1-3 in his action on the weekend.

UConn returns to action on February 21-22 when they compete in the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate at Wexford Plantation G.C. in Hilton Head, S.C.
