Buchanan Leads Huskies at Rio Pinar

ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshman Jeb Buchanan shot a one-over par 73 Monday to lead the University of Connecticut men's golf team in action at the Rio Pinar Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Florida, at Rio Pinar Country Club.

The host Golden Knights lead the team competition after shooting a two round total of 571 Monday and are four shots clear of second place Louisville. UCF's Blayne Barber leads the individual competition after shooting a second round 64 and holds a four-shot advantage with his 135 total.

UConn stands in 20th place in the team standings with a score of 609 for the two rounds, led by Buchanan's 77-73--150, which places him tied for 56th place.

The tournament concludes Tuesday with 18 holes of action beginning at 8:30 a.m.
