RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - Senior Matthew Dziubina (Shelton, Conn.) paced the University of Connecticut golf team with a one-under par 71 in the final round of play at the Farms Invitaional. Dziubina finished the invite in fifth place with an even-par 216. The Huskies landed in 11th place out of 14 with a three-round score of 936 at the Farms Golf Club, hosted by the University of San Diego.
San Diego State (862) won the invite with a team score at two-under par, 12 strokes ahead of St. Mary's (874) in second.
Junior Brian Hughes (Fairfield, Conn.) and freshman Dan Myers (Ridgefield, Conn.) each earned a spot in the top-50. Hughes shot an 83, while Myers booked an 82 in the final round to finish in a three-way tie at 239.
Senior Matt Carroll (Heathrow, Fla.) also score for Connecticut with a final round 81, putting him at 240 for the invitational.
SDSU's J.J. Span won the individual title with a four-under 212, including an under-four 68 in the final round.
The Huskies are in action next weekend at the FAU Spring Break Championship at the Fountain Lakes Golf Club in Lake Worth, Florida.
