    Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - Junior Chris DeLucia finished in a tie for 15th place to lead the University of Connecticut golf team to an eighth place finish at the Mission Inn Spring Fling at El Campeon Golf Club, hosted by St. John's University Saturday and Sunday.

    St. Leo captured the team title in the 36-hole tournament with a total of 598, beating Florida Gulf Coast University by three strokes, Stetson University by five strokes and the University of Detroit Mercy by six strokes. UConn finished at 55-over 623.

    DeLucia shot 77-76--153 and his 11-over total was good for a tie for 15th and the top spot among the Husky finishers. Sophomore Jeremy Troy finished one shot behind DeLucia and tied for 18th place.

    The Huskies return to action March 22-23 when they compete in the C&F Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary, at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
