WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Juniors Matt Dubrowski and Chris DeLucia fired a 73 and 74, respectively Monday, to lead the University of Connecticut golf team in day one of action at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate at the par-71 River Course at the Kingsmill Golf Resort.
Missouri leads the team competition at 288, with Maryland, host William & Mary and Rutgers tied for second at 292, four shots back. UConn stands in a tie for 11th place in the 20-team field at 300, 12 shots off the lead.
Justin Martinson of Delaware, Jace Long of Missouri and Ryan Vince of James Madison are tied for the individual lead after firing a score a two under-69.
Dubrowski was the top Husky finisher with a 73 Monday to stand in a tie for 21st, while DeLucia fired a 74 and is tied for 33rd. Sophomore Adam Vaccari competed as an individual and also fired a 73 on the day.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with 18 holes of action.
