WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Junior Matt Dubrowski fired his second successive 73 Tuesday to lead the University of Connecticut golf team to a tie for eighth place in the C&F Bank Intercollegiate at the River Course of the Kingsmill Golf Resort.
Missouri captured the team title with a two-round score of 575 on the par-71 layout. The Tigers outdistanced host William & Mary (582) by seven shots and Maryland (584) by nine shots to record the victory. Jace Long of Missouri captured individual medalist honors with a three-under total of 139 for the tourney, shooting a 70 Tuesday to outdistance Justin Martinson of Delaware and Conor O'Brien of William & Mary by two shots.
Dubrowski shot a pair of 73's for a two-round total of 146 to earn a tie for 12th place. Sophomore Matt Carroll was the next Husky finisher in the team five-some, shooting a 151 to finish in a tie for 37th. Sophomore Adam Vaccari competed as an individual and tied for 24th after totaling 148 for 36 holes.
