Huskies Tie for Fourth Place in New England Division I Golf Championship

Middletown, R.I. - Junior Matt Dziubina finished in a tie for ninth place overall to lead the University of Connecticut golf team to a tie for fourth place in the New England Division I Golf Championship at Newport National Golf Club.

Central Connecticut State captured the team title by two strokes over Sacred Heart University. Fordham finished third, followed by UConn and Rhode Island in a tie for fourth and Boston College in sixth place.

David Konski of Sacred Heart captured individual medalist honors by three shots over the field. He shot a two-under total of 142 for the two round tournament.

Dziubina led the Husky finishers, followed by senior Jeremy Troy, who tied for 12th.

UConn returns to action on April 17-19 in the BIG EAST Championship at Innisbrook Golf Club and Resort in Innisbrook, Fla.
