Innisbrook, Fla. - The University of Connecticut golf team stands in a tie for eighth place after day two Monday of the 2011 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship at the Copperhead Course of the Innisbrook Resort.

Notre Dame stands in the team lead at 583, holding a seven stroke advantage over Louisville. Villanova sits in third place, 11 shots off the lead. Connecticut is in a tie for eight at 605, in a group of eight teams within six shots of each other between fourth place and 11th place entering the final round Tuesday.

Leading the Huskies after two rounds on the day were junior Matt Dziubina and senior Jeremy Troy, who are in a tie for 24th individually at 151. Troy shot a one-under 71 Monday, matching the low round of the day. Karsten Clements of Louisville and Notre Dame teammates Max Scodro and Niall Platt are tied for the individual lead after day two at one-under par 143.

The tournament continues with round three action Tuesday.
