Huskies Finish Tenth in 2011 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship

Innisbrook, Fla. - The University of Connecticut golf team finished in tenth place after the final round of play Tuesday of the 2011 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship at the Copperhead Course of the Innisbrook Resort.

Notre Dame captured the team championship with a three-day total of 876, winning the title by six strokes over Louisville. UConn shot a three-round total of 910 to finish tenth in the 12-team field.

Max Scodro of Notre Dame captured the individual title after shooting a 69 Tuesday to finish two shots clear of Karsten Clements of Louisville.

Leading the Huskies individually was junior Matt Dziubina, who finished in a tie for 29th place. Senior Jeremy Troy tied for 32nd, followed by junior Adam Vaccari in a tie for 36th, junior Jeb Buchanan in 42nd place and senior Matt Dubrowski in a tie for 45th place overall.

This event concludes the spring season for the Huskies.
