Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Fourth At Adams Cup of Newport

Newport, R.I. (September 21, 2010)-Sophomores Jeb Buchanan and Brian Hughes each finished in a tie for 12th place overall to lead the University of Connecticut golf team to a tie for fourth place after the final round of action Tuesday at the Adams Cup of Newport at Newport National Golf Club.

UCF captured the team title by 20 strokes, led by individual medalist Greg Eason, who finished two shots clear of Kevin Josephson of Central Connecticut. West Florida finished second, followed by CCSU and then UConn and Towson tied for fourth.

Buchanan, the defending champion in the event, and Hughes were joined in the top 20 by teammate senior Chris DeLucia, who finished tied for 17th. Junior Jeremy Troy (tie for 40th) and junior Matt Dubrowski (tie for 70th) rounded out the Husky finishers in the tournament.

The Huskies return to action on September 27-28 at the Hartford Hawks Invitational, to be held at Bull's Bridge GC in South Kent, Conn.
