NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Three UConn golfers finished in the Top 25 as the Huskies captured a seventh-place finish Sunday after the final round of The MacDonald Cup at the Yale Golf Course.
Junior Dane Rosa (Mansfield, Conn.), playing as an individual, followed up his 3-under par 67 in Round 2 with a 1-over 71 in Round 3 to finish 76-67-71-214, good enough for a tie for 18th place in the 74-player field. The 67 was Rosa's first sub-70 round of his college career.
Sophomore Zach Zaback (Farmington, Conn.) was just one stroke behind Rosa, finishing 762-70-73-215, which placed him in a tie for 21st place. Zaback also recorded one of just five eagles during the three rounds of competition.
UConn sophomore John Flaherty (Glastonbury, Conn.) was a stroke behind Zaback, 73-73-70-216, finishing in a deadlock for 24th place.
