STATE COLLEGE, Pa. --- The UConn men's golf team posted its fifth Top Five finish of the 2015-16 season, coming in fourth in the 11-team Rutherford Intercollegiate, sponsored by Penn State University, which ended Sunday at the Penn State Blue Course.

The Huskies' aggregate 288-287-287=862 was just one stroke behind third-place Xavier on the Par 71 course. Penn State, the host school, won the team title by shooting a 9-under 279-283-281=843.

UConn junior Eric Dietrich (Cheshire, Conn.) led the Huskies' effort with a 1-over 72-72-70=214, to finish in a tie for ninth in the 68-player field. It was the second consecutive Top 10 finish for Dietrich, his fourth of the season and the fifth of his college career. Dietrich tied for second in Par 5 scoring for the three-round tourney, playing the longest holes in 5-under.

Senior Zach Zaback (Farmington, Conn.) finished just one stroke behind Dietrich with a 2-over 72-71-72=215 and ended in a tie for 12th place, the 23rd time in his career that he has finished among the Top 20.

UConn senior Cameron MacKay (Brookfield, Conn.) shot 75-70-75=220 to finish in a tie for 25th place, while senior Corey Birch (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished in a tie for 29th place after his 75-74-73=222, and senior John Flaherty shot 69-82-72=223 to finish in a tie for 31st place.

The Huskies will return to action on April 23-24, when they are the host team for the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational, set to take place at Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Baltic, Conn. The tourney will honor the Til Duty Is Done organization, which aids military veterans returning from overseas.
