Ellington, Conn. - Sophomore Jeb Buchanan shot a one-over par score of 145 through two rounds to lead the University of Connecticut golf team Monday in action at the inaugural Connecticut Cup, hosted by UConn, at Ellington Ridge Country Club.
The Huskies stand in second place in the team standings at 594. Arkansas-Little Rock leads the competition at one-under 575 through two rounds. UALR teammates Linus Gillgren and Dylan Raines lead the individual competition with three-under totals of 141. Raines shot a 69 in round one, the low round of the day. Buchanan stands in a tie for third place, four shots off the lead.
Bryant (597), Hartford (600), Sacred Heart (601), AIC (602) and UConn Blue (603) round out the top teams scores after two rounds.
UConn junior Matt Dubrowski is tied for sixth at 147, while sophomore Matt Dziubina is tied for 13th at 150.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m.
