2014-15 (Junior Season):
Named an alternate captain...Played in all 36 games with nine starting nods...Totalled eight points coming on four goals and four assists...Led all UConn forwards and was third on the team with 54 blocked shots...Averaged 1.50 blocks per game, ranked first in Hockey East and second nationally among forwards...Huskies were 3-0-1 in games when he scored a goal...Scored a goal in 4-1 upset over No. 15 ranked Quinnipiac (Oct. 21)...Found the back of the net in a 3-2 win over defending National Champion Union (Dec. 27)...Scored to help the Huskies to a 4-0 win at home over UMass in the regular season finale (Feb. 27)...Blocked a season-high six shots as UConn earned a 4-4 tie on the road at No. 5 Boston University (Nov. 8).

2013-2014 (Sophomore Season):
Played in 34 games...Tied for seventh on the team in scoring with 15 points on six goals and nine assists...Finished tied for second on the team with a +10 rating this season, improving on his +1 as a freshman (31 games)...Had a power play goal and a game-winner on his ledger...Posted a pair of multi-point games, scoring a goal with an assist in an 8-1 win at AIC (Nov. 23) and in a 3-2 upset at future Hockey East member, #9 ranked Providence (Feb. 11)...Scored the game-winning goal to help beat Air Force on the road, 5-3 (Jan. 31)...Tied for fifth on the team and first among UConn forwards with 39 blocked shots on the season...Finished the season strong, scoring a point in the last five regular season games and last six of seven.

2012-2013 (Freshman Season): Played in 31 games as a rookie...Totaled eight points on four goals and four assists...Notched the game winning goal in a 4-3 victory over Penn State (Jan. 4)...Registered one goal and one assist against Bentley (Feb. 11).

Before UConn: Competed for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL), the only Tier 1 junior hockey league in the nation... Tallied 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points while serving as an assistant captain in 2011-12...Scored 14 points on 6 goals and 8 assists in 47 games in 2010-11...Played for the Topeka RoadRunners of the NAHL in 2009-10, scoring 32 points (12g/20a) in 56 games.

Personal: Born January 22, 1991...Patrick James Kirtland is the son of Benjamin and Mary Jean Kirtland...His father was the second head coach in UConn hockey history and led the Huskies for seven seasons (1981-88)...Has three brothers, Ben (28) played hockey at Tufts University from 2006-10, Paul (27) played hockey at Ohio State University from 2009-13 and John (24) who played hockey at St. Thomas University...a communications major.
