2015-16 (Freshman Season):  Appeared in all 36 games during his rookie campaign…Second on the team with 32 points on 14 goals and 18 assists…Led the nation with 13 power play goals…Scored 19 points on the power play (13g/6a)…Ranked third in Hockey East and tied for ninth in the NCAA in power play points…Finished the season with a point in 14 of the final 18 games and had a point in five-straight to end the regular season…Finished third in points, second in goals and tied for third in assists in the UConn Division I rookie scoring record book…Ranked fourth among Hockey East rookie scorers and was tied for eighth among the nation’s freshmen…Had eight multi-point games on the season…Scored his first collegiate goal on the way to a hat trick to help the Huskies knock of No. 7 Boston University at home (Oct. 27)…Earned his first Hockey East Rookie of the Week award for his efforts against BU (Nov. 2)…Scored a two goals at home in a 4-3 win over No. 5 UMass Lowell…Added another to sweep the River Hawks and earned his second Hockey East Player of the Week Award (Dec. 7)…Scored twice in a 5-2 win at Arizona State (Jan 5)…Had two assists in his collegiate debut, a 5-2 win at Alabama Huntsville (Oct. 9)…Had two assist games against Sacred Heart (Jan. 26), Brown (Feb. 2) and New Hampshire (Feb. 26)…Scored his first playoff goal in a 4-3 loss to Vermont in the Hockey East Opening Round.

In the NHL Draft:  Was selected in the first-round (26th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues...He is the highest drafted player in UConn program history.

Before UConn: Selected to play in the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game in Buffalo, N.Y., at First Niagara Center...Skated for U.S. National U18 team as part of USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP)...Played in 64 games, recording 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists...Helped lead his team to a gold medal at the IIHF U18 World Championship in Switzerland while recording an assist...Recorded seven goals and seven assist over 25 USHL games...Tallied a pair of assists as his team took silver at Five Nations Tournament in the Czech Republic...Led team to a gold medal at 2014 Four Nations Tournament in Sweden... Graduated from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan a year early...Received National Young Leaders Award and Presidential Academic Award.

Personal: Born October 30, 1997...Tage Nathaniel Thompson is the son of Brent and Kim Thompson...He has a brother, Tyce... His father was a 1989 draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings and played 121 games in the NHL with the Kings, Winnipeg Jets and Arizona Coyotes...His dad currently serves as head coach of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL and was formerly an assistant coach with the New York Islanders from 2012-14...He is an exploratory major.
