The University of Connecticut men's ice hockey team fell at Holy Cross, 2-1, in its Atlantic Hockey opener on Friday night. The Huskies dropped to 0-2-0 and 0-1-0 in the AHA, while the Crusaders remained undefeated at 3-0-0 and 2-0-0 in league play.

The Huskies (13-12-3, 10-9-2 AHA) recently swept Bentley on Sunday and Monday with 4-1 and 9-0 victories. UConn is 4-1-1 in the last six contests. Since David Berard took over coaching duties on November 9, the Huskies are 13-8-2 and have outscored the opposition 66-55.

Holy Cross (14-10-2, 10-7-2 AHA) had both games postponed last week and have yet to make up those contests. UConn fell at Holy Cross, 2-1, on October 26 to open conference play.
