STORRS, Conn. – Freshman forward Shawn Pauly (Bellingham, Wash.) of the University of Connecticut men’s ice hockey team has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 17.
Pauly led the Huskies in scoring with three points in a two-game sweep over the five-seed Robert Morris in the AHA Quarterfinals at the Freitas Ice Forum over the weekend. He lit the lamp twice and recorded an assist as he was one of 15 skaters to record a point in the series.
Pauly recorded a goal and an assist in the series-clinching 4-3 win on Saturday night. For the weekend, he took just two shots and scored on both, while also maintaining a plus-five on the ice.
