Schneider Named AHA Player of the Month

Cole Schneider led the Huskies throughout the playoffs.

STORRS, Conn. - With 10 points on five goals and five assists in five playoff games, sophomore wing Cole Schneider (Williamsville, N.Y.) was tabbed Atlantic Hockey Association Player of the Month, as announced on Thursday by the AHA. Schneider scored in four of five playoff games.

UConn's single-season record holder for points (45) departed for the professional ranks following the season after signing a two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators. As of Thursday, April 12, Schneider had registered two assists in nine games with the AHL's Binghamton Senators.

Schneider led the Huskies to game three of the AHA Quarterfinals at No. 1 seed and eventual champion Air Force with 10 points on five goals and five assists in five playoff games. In three games at Air Force, Schneider notched three goals and three assists, including three points in UConn's 3-1 victory in game two and two goals in the series finale. Schneider led the Huskies past Canisius in the opening round with four points on two goals and two assists, highlighted by a three-point night in game one. He was named AHA Player of the Week following his performance at Air Force.
