STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's hockey program will hold an alumni game and a family skating session at Rentschler Field prior to the team's historic outdoor game against Sacred Heart on February 13, 2011. The alumni game and family skating session will allow the friends and family of UConn men's hockey to experience skating and playing on an outdoor rink like in years past.

The Huskies will face Sacred Heart at 1:00 p.m. with the UConn women hosting Providence College at 4:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the UConn men will have an alumni game and a family skating session on the outdoor surface at Rentschler Field. The tentative schedule is to have the family skate followed by an alumni game and an alumni function. The outdoor events are all part of the 10-day Whalers Hockey Fest that could feature as many as 20 outdoor games between professional, college, prep school and high school teams at Rentschler Field.

Head Coach Bruce Marshall will have more information soon to follow.
