Men's Hockey Team Welcomes Bentley Friday to Begin Home-and-Home Series



    STORRS, Conn. (November 8, 2007) - The University of Connecticut men's hockey team hosts Bentley Friday night at the Freitas Ice Forum. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The game is the beginning of a home-and-home series, as the Huskies will travel to Watertown, Mass. to take on the Falcons on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

    UConn dropped to 1-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the Atlantic Hockey Association after dropping two games to Sacred Heart last weekend. The Huskies fell 4-2 on Friday, November 2 in Milford and 5-0 on Saturday, November 3 in Storrs. Michael Coppola (Old Brookville, N.Y.) and Chris Ochoa (Santa Monica, Calif.) scored over the weekend for Connecticut.

    After being picked ninth in the preseason coaches poll, the Falcons have gotten off to a strong start in the league at 3-1-1 (3-5-1 overall). Bentley defeated Sacred Heart 3-1 in a rare Tuesday game this week. Leading the Falcons in scoring is sophomore forward Matt Menzione. He has recorded five goals and three assists on the year so far.

    UConn has been very successful against Bentley, with an 18-5-1 all-time record against them. Last season Connecticut went 3-1 against the Falcons, winning the last three games of the season series.

    A trip out to Colorado faces the Huskies next weekend as they travel to play the western most member of the AHA, Air Force. Games are on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 from the Cadet Ice Arena and both are scheduled for 9:35 p.m. (EST).
