STORRS, Conn. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday the appointment of UConn men's soccer coach Ray Reid as the Division I Men's College Representative.
"We are excited to have Ray Reid on board representing all Division 1 schools on behalf of the NSCAA," said Carlo Acquista, the NSCAA Advocacy Council College Representative. "He brings a wealth of experience in coaching, he is recognized nationally amongst his peers, and well respected in the game. His ability to communicate and lead large groups makes him a no brainer to represent College Soccer. I am looking forward to closely working with him."
Reid's responsibilities as a National Division Representative are to coordinate communication with the National Membership Group Chair, Region Representatives and the NSCAA College Programs Department Staff and to represent the voice of their respective division.
Reid will also solicit feedback on behalf of their division on priority issues and serves as a conduit for disseminating and gathering information pertinent to schools, conferences and soccer nationally.
The four-time National Coach of the Year will be entering his 21st season at UConn and 29th overall as a head coach. Reid has accumulated 425 total victories including 279 during his tenure with the Huskies. With a winning percentage of .786 after the conclusion of the 2016 season, Reid ranks as the second winningest active coach in men's soccer.
