    STORRS, Conn. - The No. 5/1 UConn men’s soccer team will face Dartmouth at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Friday, August 31. Friday’s match will pit two teams that competed in the 2011 NCAA Tournament. The game can be heard on WHUS.org, 91.7 fm. There will also be a live video stream at uconnhuskies.com.

    Connecticut (1-0) comes into the game with the nation’s second-longest active home unbeaten streak at 26 games after defeating St. Francis, 1-0, in the season opener last Saturday. The Huskies have not lost at home since falling to Providence in the BIG EAST Tournament on November 7, 2009.

    Dartmouth is the first of four opponents UConn will face this season that advanced to the 2011 NCAA Tournament.

    Dartmouth will be playing its first match since falling to Providence, 1-0, in the NCAA Tournament First Round last November. The Big Green finished 2011 as the Co-Ivy League Champions. Dartmouth ended the season with an 8-6-4 record.

    The Huskies are currently ranked No. 5 in the latest NSCAA poll and No. 1 in the Soccer America rankings. UConn is one of five ranked BIG EAST teams in the NSCAA poll.

    Last week’s match against St. Francis was played in front of a sell-out crowd of 5,100 fans at Morrone Stadium. Connecticut finished the 2011 season ranked second in the nation in total attendance (50,402) and fourth in the NCAA in average attendance (3,600).
