STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's soccer team will face William & Mary at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Monday, September 2nd. The game can be heard on WHUS.org, 91.7 fm. There will also be a live video stream at uconnhuskies.com.
Connecticut (1-0) comes into the match ranked No. 5 in the country after defeating St. Francis (N.Y.), 1-0, in its first contest of the season. The seniors on the squad have won 39 of their 40 games in Storrs, and have never dropped a regular season match at Morrone Stadium.
William & Mary dropped its first match of the season, 1-0, against St. Francis (Pa.) last Friday. The Tribe took both of their exhibition games against VCU and Longwood.
UConn is one of two teams from the newly-established American Athletic Conference to be ranked in the NSCAA poll, joining Louisville. South Florida also received votes. The Huskies were the unanimous pick to win the new conference in the first coaches' preseason poll.
Last week's match against St. Francis was played in front of a crowd in front of 3,225 fans. Last season, the Huskies hosted 59,192 fans for an average of 4,225 fans per match.
