The UConn men’s soccer team hits the road for the first time in 2015 when it visits Harvard on Thursday, Sept. 10. Kickoff at Soldiers’ Field Soccer Stadium is set for 4 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on WHUS.org, 91.7 FM.

No. 4/4 Huskies Rout Harvard On The Road, 6-0
The No. 4/4 UConn men's soccer team traveled to Cambridge, Mass. and exploded for a 6-0 victory at Harvard. Preseason All-American Mamadou Doudou Diouf finished with two goals and an assist to lead the Huskies.

The Huskies are coming off a scoreless draw with 2014 Ivy League Champion Dartmouth on Friday night. The Husky defense extended its season scoreless streak to 330 minutes and overall streak to 797 minutes. The all-time program scoreless streak is 961 minutes, which was set in the 2011 campaign. Redshirt-sophomore keeper Scott Levene posted his seventh-straight clean sheet in the net in the tie to extend UConn’s overall unbeaten streak to 10-straight contests.

On Monday, freshman defender Simen Olafsen earned the Huskies’ first weekly conference honor of the season when he was selected as the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his role in helping the squad put up back-to-back shutouts against Quinnipiac and the Big Green.


 

 

Thursday’s tilt will mark the 30th-ever meeting between the Huskies and Crimson. UConn leads the all-time series, 15-8-6, including a convincing 6-0 win in the last meeting in 2012.

UConn finished 2014 with a 4-3-1 road record, but finished unbeaten in its final four road tilts, including three victories.

Harvard enters the match with a 0-1-1 record, playing to a 2-2 draw with No. 23 SMU on Sunday afternoon. The Crimson wrapped up the 2014 season with an 11-4-2 overall record.
