STORRS, Conn – The No. 3 UConn men’s soccer team is set to face No.19 Washington at 7:00 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium tonight. The match will pit two NSCAA top-25 teams against each other, and can be heard on WHUS.org, 91.7 fm. There will also be a live video stream at uconnhuskies.com.

Connecticut (2-0-0) comes into the game without having allowed a goal this season. Goalkeeper Andre Blake was named the Goalkeeper of the Week last week after putting up a shutout against St. Francis in the team’s first match.

Washington holds a 3-2-0 all-time series edge over Connecticut, but UConn defeated the then-ranked No. 21 West Coast Huskies last season, 1-0, in overtime when Max Wasserman buried a free kick from the top of the box.

Washington’s offense has been dangerous this year, as it has scored nine goals in three matches this season. Taylor Peay (8) and Justin Schmidt (6) have combined for six goals and 14 of Washington’s 29 points.

In the latest Soccer America and TopDrawerSoccer polls, the Huskies have received the No. 1 spot. Washington was ranked 19th in the Soccer America poll and 12th in TopDrawerSoccer.

This weekend’s match against Boston University was played in front of a season high 4,243 fans at Morrone Stadium. Tonight’s match is free for UConn students to attend.
