STORRS, Conn. - The No. 12 University of Connecticut men's soccer team will face the No. 10 Saint Louis Billikens this Saturday, September 21st at 7 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The match-up will mark the second time in less than two weeks that the Huskies have faced the No. 10 team in the nation, as Connecticut earned a 0-0 draw with then-ranked No. 10 Washington last Tuesday.
The Huskies hold a 3-5-1 all-time record against the Billikens, with the most recent match, a 0-0 draw, coming in the 2008 season.
Saint Louis midfielder David Graydon enters the game tied for second in the nation with 0.80 assists per game and was named to CollegeSoccerNews.com's National Team for the week of September 2nd.
Connecticut senior defender Michael Mercado was named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Washington and Bradley.
The Huskies have struggled to finish offensively this year, having scored just two goals on the season. In Tuesday's match against Syracuse the Huskies took seven shots but couldn't find the back of the net, dropping their second consecutive match. Preseason All-Conference forward Mamadou Doudou Diouf leads the team with 20 shots in 2013, putting six on goal.
The loss marked the first time UConn has dropped two regular season matches since the 2008 season when it fell to West Virginia and Providence, respectively.
UConn will look to get back on track with a victory before hitting the road for two away matches at USF (Sept. 27) and Temple (Oct. 2). Tickets for tomorrow's game can be purchased by calling 1-877-AT-UCONN.
