PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior midfielder George Fochive earned a spot on the American's Honor Roll for the third time this season, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Fochive helped lead the Huskies to a 1-1 draw in their conference opener against USF on Friday. The Paris, France native knocked home his score at the 2:58 mark of the game, giving UConn an early 1-0 lead.
For Fochive, the goal marked his first as a Husky, after transferring from Division II Hawaii Pacific University after the 2011 season. He has seen action in 29 games during his tenure in Storrs, helping to lead UConn to an impressive 15 shutouts during that span.
In 2013, the defensive-minded senior has started all seven games, taking five shots (two on goal).
Connecticut returns to action this Wednesday, October 2nd, when the Huskies travel to Ambler Sports Complex in Philadephia, Pa. to take on conference foe, Temple, at 3:00 p.m.
