STORRS, Conn.  The University of Connecticut men’s soccer team will travel to New Haven, Conn. tonight to take on the Yale Bulldogs at 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium in its final non-conference match of the season. The Huskies enter the contest with an eight game unbeaten streak after playing No. 6 Louisville to a 2-2 draw on Saturday. The game can be heard live at WHUS.org, 91.7 fm.

Connecticut (6-2-5, 2-0-4 The American) has seen an offense outburst over the past month, scoring 12 goals in its last 5 matches. Junior Allando Matheson is one of the main reasons the Husky offense has jumpstarted, as the forward has tallied five goals and trails freshman Cyle Larin by just one score for the team lead.

UConn was well-represented in the American Athletic Conference’s weekly award selection as Larin was named the Rookie of the Week and senior midfielder George Fochive was named the Defensive Player of the Week. For his offensive efforts, Matheson was named to the Honor Roll.

The Huskies are ranked No. 16 in TopDrawerSoccer.com’s top-25 poll and come in at No. 8 in the Soccer America poll.

Yale (3-7-1, 2-0-1 Ivy League) is led by senior Peter Jacobsen who has netted a team-high four goals and added an assist in 2013. In between the posts is Blake Brown who has started 10 of the team’s 11 games, allowing 13 goals and making 27 saves for a 1.24 GAA.

The Huskies return home to Morrone for the final time this regular season when they take on Cincinnati on Saturday, October 26th at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-877-AT-UCONN.
