UConn Off To Tampa For American Semifinals vs. USF

TAMPA, Fla. --
After opening postseason play with a convincing 4-0 win over Temple, the UConn men's soccer team is set to travel to Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla. to take on USF in an American Athletic Conference Semifinal match on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on The American Digital Network.

UConn (8-5-5) tallied a season-best four goals on Saturday in the conference tournament quarterfinals at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium, led by the third multi-goal game of the season from freshman forward Abdou Mbacke Thiam. Redshirt-sophomore keeper Scott Levene, who ranks first in The American and 22nd nationally with a 0.72 GAA, picked up his third clean sheet of the season in the victory.

Connecticut is in the midst of a six-match unbeaten streak, dating back to Oct. 17. Over the stretch, the team has outscored opponents, 12-to-3, and has recorded three shutouts.



Friday's tilt will be the 16th time the two programs have met on the pitch and the sixth since the start of the 2014 campaign. The Huskies are 10-2-3 all-time against the Bulls, including a 2-1 overtime victory on Oct. 31.

The Huskies have scored first in nine of their 18 games this season and sport a 7-1-1 record in such contests. Additionally, the team is 4-0-1 when leading at halftime and 6-0-0 when scoring multiple goals.

UConn has won seven total conference tournament titles, including four under Ray Reid. The team is 4-0-2 in two seasons of competition in The American Championships and will be searching for its first league conference title since 2007 (Big East).
