STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut men’s soccer team will face Quinnipiac University in the NCAA First Round at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21 at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The Huskies earned an at-large bid to the tournament after posting an 11-2-6 record in their first 19 matches and checking in at No. 11 in the most recent NSCAA Poll. The match can be heard live on WHUS.org, 91.7 FM.
Quinnipiac finished its season with an overall record of 9-4-7 and captured the MAAC Championship on penalty kicks against top-seeded Monmouth.
The Huskies own an overall record of 38-26-5 in NCAA Tournament action, dating back to their first appearance in 1960. UConn stands at 21-9-5 under head coach Ray Reid. At home, the Huskies own a 30-15-3 record in NCAA Tournament action, including a 18-4-3 mark under Reid.
Three American Athletic Conference teams have qualified for the tournament, as UConn is joined in the field by Louisville and USF.
The winner of the match will take on nationally-ranked No.6 UMBC on Sunday, November 24 at 1 p.m.
